In the beginning (at the hospital)...

Dean right after birth. His face was all shiny from a special ointment the nurses put on him to protect his eyes from bacteria.

 The official weight . . . 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

This is the very first picture ever taken of Dean.  He was getting warm while still in the birthing room.

Our cute little man, only moments after he was born.

My first meal after labor. I can't believe they let me have a cheesburger!

Proud Daddy! The first picture of my two favorite boys together.

Grandma Dozier got to see Dean within the first hour of life.

My nurse, Theresa, was such a great coach...she broke my water, helped deliver Dean, and and was the one that got me my cheesburger right after labor. What a great lady!
 Our first family photo.
Proud Mommy!

While I was pregnant, I couldn't wait to give birth so that I could finally see Dean's face . . .

. . . at long last.

Since birth, Dean has loved sleeping with his arms up by his head.  Not one for being swaddled. :)

No lack of hair on this baby's head!
His I.D. bracelet.

Glad to have some stretching room after being stuck in my belly for 9 months.

Perspective on just how small he was.

Dean is about to get his umbilical cord tag removed in this picture.  The tag worked just like the plastic tags you'd find on a piece of clothing at a store. An alarm would sound if anyone walked out the hospital doors with a baby that had one of these on.

The nurse removing his umbilical cord tag.

All done! He was left with just a regular umbilical cord stump.

Dean was not happy about the whole process.

The hospital had to remove and retain his foot I.D. bracelet for their records.

Waiting to be discharged from the hospital.

This was the postpardum/recovery room that we spent 2 nights in after giving birth. Notice Dean waiting patiently in the bassinet.

The board in our room listing the on-duty nurses. This picture also shows our time of discharge...we went home right after these pictures were taken.

Room 205, you were good to us!

Headed home! This picture was taken on our way home from the hospital - both Dean's first time ever outside and in a car!

Daddy drove us safely home.

Goodbye hospital!

First time Dean saw his reflection . . .

He likes what he sees. :)

Daddy (Ryan) & Grandma Dozier (Cindy) had put out this balloon to welcome us home.

Home at last!

Walking in through the front door to Dean's first home.

Barkley and Goliath were very excited to meet Dean (and see where I'd been for the last couple days).

A beautiful bouquet of flowers from Grandma Dozier were waiting for us inside.

Dean seeing his room for the first time.

He was very thrilled, as you can see.
